The Inspiration

I observed how easy and smooth it was to use a suitcase handle. How it extends, collapses, and even stays at certain heights when the button is not pressed.

My goal was to study this mechanism, and incorporate it into a bedside rail which is easy for nurses to use with one hand, while simultaneously allows for the patient to feel comfortable and not closed off.
